The Customer Need

Residents at Raffles House, part of London-based student accommodation provider iQ, were frustrated and fed up with the building’s slow and inconsistent internet. And the problem was getting worse each year, as students brought more and more devices with them that needed to connect to the internet.

The WiFi was at breaking point – and so was students’ patience. With poor cabling infrastructure and angry public complaints by residents, iQ knew things had to change, and quickly.

The Solution

We carried out a site-wide survey, immediately discovered the existing infrastructure was not fit for purpose and proposed a solution in line with today’s students’ demanding requirements. Glide Student delivered a comprehensive project and met every single milestone, re-cabling the entire building, installing access points on every floor and ensuring the WiFi could handle everything it had to, whether students needed to Skype home, stream music or game all night.
